学校简介
- 华夏纽约中心学校建于1996年，是威郡第一所教授简体字和汉语拼音的中文学校。1999年迁到现在校址WCC校园，目前有五十多位老师和四百多名学生。
- 毎周日上午九点半到十二点半上课。学制从学前小班到九年级毕业，还可选修十年级的高级中文班。除了中文课程，一年级以上的学生还可以选择文化/兴趣课。
- 大部分家庭来自大陆，少部分来自其他说中文的国家，还有一些中美、美国、印度和韩国等家庭。
- 校长由董事会任命。董事会由家长投票选举产生。
- 华夏纽约中心学校是一个501(c)(3) 非盈利机构，运作完全依靠志愿者们无偿的奉献以及各界赞助和家长捐款。
School Information
Founded in 1996, Huaxia New York Central Chinese School (HXNYC) is a non-profit Chinese school in Westchester County. The school offers instruction in Mandarin Chinese to children from preschool to Advanced Placement Chinese on Sundays. It is the first Chinese school in Westchester County that teaches Pinyin and simplified Chinese characters. In addition to offering a Chinese language curriculum, the school also offers cultural enrichment classes.
The school has been at its current location at Westchester Community College (WCC) since 1999.
