Dear Parents and Teachers,

Huaxia New York Central Chinese School will resume all classes and activities this Sunday, 2/23/2020.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus and keep our school and community safe, the school Safety Team asks all school members to abide by the following safety rules which are consistent with CDC guidelines.

(a) Anyone who has travelled to China or has been in close contact with someone who has recently travelled to China, must fulfil the 14-day mandatory quarantine before coming to school (the last date of contact will be used). The school reserves the right to ask anyone to leave the campus if he/she is found to have violated the rule.

(b) Anyone with any of these symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath, must not come to school. You must contact your doctor and seek medical help. Please also inform the Chinese school of your medical condition through your child’s teacher or the school administration.

(c) The school reserves the right to send anyone home if he/she develops any of the symptoms in (b). The school has the right to obtain the name of the regular weekday school your child attends and provide the information to local health officials.

(d) Try to cough or sneeze into your elbow.

(e) Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

(f) If soap and water are not available, clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, covering all surfaces of your hands and rubbing them together until they feel dry.

(g) Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Anyone in violation of the above guidelines maybe liable for any litigation cost the school may incur.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
