COVID-19 给所有家庭、同学、老师和学校带来巨大的挑战。我们共同度过了一个前所未有的艰难时期。虽然学校今年大幅度降低了学费，学校生源仍受到影响。学校不但开出所有中文课程，还基本保留并增添了新文化课程。

感谢所有师生一如既往地支持学校。感谢老师们迅速参加各种培训，努力提供高质量网课。感谢家长们的积极配合并协助孩子们上好每一堂网课。感谢所有志愿者坚守岗位，克服困难做好每项工作，办好每个活动。

Fund Drive 2020
COVID-19 has brought unprecedented challenges to us all. Although the school lowered its tuition, enrolment was still negatively impacted. Nevertheless, the school has managed to offer a complete Chinese language program and most of its culture classes.

We would like to thank everyone for your continued support during this most trying time. We thank our teachers for quickly adapting to distance teaching; we thank our parents for helping the children with online learning; we thank school volunteers for their hard work to ensure the school runs smoothly.

In this season of giving, we appeal to you to support our school by donating to our 2020 Fund Drive. No amount is too small and every dollar will go towards maintaining an excellent Chinese language and diverse culture curriculum. 华夏中文学校演讲比赛报名开始

一年一度的中文演讲比赛将于12/20举行。为了鼓励更多的学生参加这项活动，今年我们把参赛年级扩大，学前大班至六年级同学均可参赛。

1. 主题：所见所闻（事件或人物均可）。自由选题,形式不限，无配乐。
2. 参赛选手拍摄演讲视频时需全身正面入镜，声音清晰，整个原始视频录制过程流畅、无剪辑。
3. 仪表要求: 男女赛手服装干净、整洁，着正装或与演讲主题有关的服装。
4. 评分标准演讲時限为1-3分钟, 不足一分钟或超出三分钟, 减5分。开场学生自我介绍不计入时间，自我介绍不包含分校名称。无背景音乐，全程普通话（不可使用方言）。演讲比赛以口头演讲为主，可以适当点缀动作或其他类型的才艺表演，但不作为整体印象加分项。希望大家不要错过这个锻炼孩子演讲口才，提高中文水平的好机会。所有参赛学生都会得到奖状及礼物卡。请家长参考《演讲比赛评分规则》 ，以便帮助孩子们准备。报名截止期：12/18/2020

华夏总校朗诵/演讲比赛将于2021年1/10于ZOOM会场举行。一至三年级前三名同学可以代表我校参赛。

Huaxia Chinese Speech Contest Sign-up
Huaxia Speech Contest is on 12/20/2020. Students from K through Grade 6 are all eligible to compete. Sign-up deadline is 12/18.

The top three winners of each grade from G1 to G3 will represent our school in the HXCS Northern Region final on 1/10/2021. You may refer to scoring criteria to prepare your child. Sign-up deadline is 12/18/2020
