AP中国语言和文化课程的设计相当于美国大学第四学期中国普通话课程。 AP课程为学生提供中文沟通能力,理解能力,表达能力等语言技能的全方位训练,帮助学生在外语学习标准中列出的五个目标领域(沟通,文化,连接,比较和社区)得到全面提高。在课程内容安排方面,上半学期讲解AP中文考试课本。下半学期进行多次AP中文,SAT中文,HSK 5模拟考试,含听力,阅读理解,短文写作,口语考试录音。在反复模考,分析考卷中帮助学生对丰富的中国语言和文化内涵建立准确理解反应力,使学生精通中国语言。

课程目标:帮助美国高中学生准备美国大学理事会AP中文考试,SATII中文,HSK 5级以上考试,帮助学生发展对中国语言和文化的认知,运用和欣赏能力。让学生参与探索中国当代和历史文化。

先修课程:学生应该已经完成​​华夏中文学校9年级课程或同等程度的中文课程。

The AP Chinese Language and Culture course is designed to be comparable to fourth semester (or the equivalent) college/university courses in Mandarin Chinese. The AP course prepares students to demonstrate their level of Chinese proficiency across the three communicative modes (Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational) and the five goal areas (Communication, Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities) as outlined in the Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century. Its aim is to provide students with ongoing and varied opportunities to further develop their proficiency across the full range of language skills within a cultural frame of reference reflective of the richness of Chinese language and culture. Course Content: The first half of the school year is dedicated to go through the AP Chinese Exam textbooks, the second half of the school year is arranged to conduct multiple mock examinations on AP Chinese, SAT Chinese and HSK 5. Exams include listening comprehension, reading comprehension, essay writing, oral exam recording. Through the repetitive mock tests and analysis of test papers, teacher will help students establish an accurate understanding of the wealth of Chinese language and culture, so that students can be proficient in the Chinese language.

Course Objectives: Prepare students for the College Board AP Chinese Exam, SAT II Chinese Exam, HSK Level 5 & 6 Exam. Help students develop awareness, skills and appreciation of the Chinese Language and Culture. Engage students in an exploration of both contemporary and historical Chinese culture. Prepare students for the College Board AP Chinese Exam.

Prerequisites/Co-requisites: Students who take this course should have completed grade 9 at Huaxia.
